Meet Derek Dean, DDS
General Dentist
Dr. Derek loves providing patients with individual, comprehensive dentistry using the latest techniques and technology. Born and raised in Grand Junction, Dr. Derek returned home to work with his father, Dr. Glen Dean, to deliver quality dentistry in Grand Junction to patients of
all ages.
Dr. Derek attended Brigham Young University (BYU) and then transferred to the University of Colorado Denver to complete his Bachelor of Science in Medical Sciences degree. He continued his dental education at the University of Colorado Denver and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the School of Dental Medicine.
After graduating from dental school, Dr. Derek completed a general practice residency at the University of Colorado Hospital with advanced training in conscious sedation, dental implants, and oral surgery. He continues learning by participating in continuing education courses. These courses help increase his knowledge and skills to offer exceptional patient treatment.
In addition to his continuous learning, Dr. Derek trains and mentors prospective and current dental students, medical residents, and dentists. Dr. Derek and his wife, Shelley, have been blessed with five sons. Outside the office, he is active in his church and enjoys coaching his son’s soccer teams, hiking, biking, skiing, and enjoying the beauty of Western Colorado.
